Helionix Designs
| Helionix Designs is an award-winning sustainable design team specialising in carbon free design. We’re committed to minimising the ecological footprint of buildings and putting the needs of local communities first. Our projects are a response to the urgent challenges we all face to live more sustainable and healthy lives.
With strong links to top university research groups, our team of architects and engineers excels at creating innovative solutions. We’re inspired by nature and have a passion for the materials as well as the form and functionality of the buildings we design Our pioneering Pines Calyx conference, training and events centre at St. Margaret’s Bay, near Dover, in Kent has won a string of awards, both locally and nationally.
This project, designed by architectural visionary Issy Benjamin, was typical of the collaborative approach we take. It combined the use of long-forgotten techniques (e.g. rammed chalk walls and timbrel vaulting) with leading edge technologies (e.g. earth tube heating system and computer controlled lighting replicating the positive effects of natural daylight). |
Our projects include designs for sustainable buildings and communities in the UK and abroad working with community groups, national agencies and private clients. Our team includes: Architects Issy Benjamin, an internationally acclaimed architect committed to radical and natural designs, John Prewer, one of the most influential advocates of low carbon design and modular construction and Michael Pawlyn, who was instrumental in the development of the Eden Project.
